Future Producers Production Tutorials

December 28, 2008

Website: www.musicproducerpro.net

Every music producer has problems one time or another when it comes to producing music, they may not be able to find the drum kit to go with the other sounds in the beat or the right baseline to go with the beat etc. Don’t worry about it, you have to just keep trying and finding the correct sounds. You could have problems with loading samples or even cutting samples up to make a remix or anything.

If you’re having problems with producing music the best advice is to learn from somebody else, and you will properly learn more than your expected because they will properly know something you don’t and you could exchange information. Producers learning from other producers is the best experience of learning how to produce music because learning from a boring textbook isn’t exactly going to show you how to do something. A text book in music production is great if for example you want to learn what a compressor does, or a limiter with diagrams. However if you want to learn something so practical, it’s best to learn from another producer.

Music producer problems arise everyday, but if you want to have a basic setup in your home studio that can lead to great results I would recommend you get a PC, Midi keyboard, Microphone, Monitors and an Audio Interface. Just with these few basic pieces of equipment a lot of problems can be resolved and you could be producing great quality music from home.

Website: www.musicproducerpro.net

I hear this every day from young teenagers that want to make a career in the music industry, they want to be the next ‘Pharrell’, ‘Timbaland’, ‘Scott Storch’, ‘Dr Dre’ and the list goes on. They ask me how did they make that sound? Ive been trying to make it for days in Fruity Loops.. etc etc

If you want to become a music producer, you need to get your musical production knowledge up. You need to learn from someone that knows everything you need to know and beyond that. A mentor.. almost like a manager but leaves you to go on with your own creative journeys. You need someone who can teach you all the best software programs such as Logic Pro, Fruity Loops, Reason, Audacity etc etc as well as the hardware aspect to music production such as MPC’s, Mixers, Microphones, Audio Interfaces and so on.

If you want to become a music producer these things are available for you, and if you wish to have a good chance in succeeding in the music industry. You need to get your knowledge up and start studying at home in your free time. I found a website which teaches you everything you need to know and more. The full in’s and out’s of the music studio, you will be mastering and mixing all of your songs by the time you finish. Polishing up other peoples songs and could even find a career in that.

Producing Professional Music

October 26, 2008

Creating Professional Music is something that is essential in the Music Business because of the amount of producers in the industry, the industry is a fast growing industry with new producers coming out everyday.

Music Production is something that producers all have to master to create quality music;
* Beat Creation: picking sounds for a kit, grid & manual tick editing, ghost notes, stereo field sound placement, layering, sample management, using dynamics & efx, dynamic playing via velocity templates
* Quantise: understanding and manipulating quantise, extracting grooves from audio & midi material, creating custom quantise templates, understanding swing, getting that perfect timing in your beats.
* Sample Manipulation: determine the key of a sample or song using spectrum analysers, old school key matching techniques, manipulating key, time stretching/compressing, slicing techniques for drums and instrument phrases.
* Dynamics and Effects: compression, parallel compression (New York), stereo widening techniques, EQ, reverb/chorus, filtering redundant frequencies.
* Polishing the mix: understanding sample management, multi format audio exports, grouping and soloing for mixing/production.

Creating Professional Music takes time however it can be mastered – Fruity Loops, Reason, Pro Tools & Logic Pro are the music industries favourite music production software tools for music production. You can find these music production software packages on their website – search on google.

I conclude this by saying – Learn how to create professional music before going to release. Be better than the rest because it is a hard industry to break into, just like the fashion industry a new producer comes out everyday so you need to be on top of your game.

What Does A Music Producer Do?

September 17, 2008

I had my little cousin ask me a question today.. What Does A Music Producer Do?

I thought aww.. there actually listening to what i am part of. Well i thought i would just give you guys a little brief for dummies on what does a music producer do.

A Music Producer is the person who creates and arranges the Beats, melodies etc in a song. They often have some say in what the artist lays down on the track too, after all they did produce the beat.

A Music Producer is in charge of the overall quality of the final product too, they should be mixing all of there music as well as the vocals unless taking to a professional studio to vocal and master.

Any more things to add? Drop me a comment.

Peace

Jay
