http://www.MusicProducerPro.net

Learning how to become a music producer this day in age is all about knowing the business, you can be talented as hell but if you do not know how the business works you are going to find it ever so hard.

Many people ask me ‘How Do I Become A Music Producer’, they ask me what music production software is the best, what do I recommend.

The advice I gave varied between what kind of producer/artist they wanted to become however the basics i recommend to everyone start like this:

1) Get a PC or Apple Mac.
2) Buy / Download Music Production Software (Fruity Loops, Reason, Logic Pro, Pro Tools.. theres loads. Research)
3) Practice making your favorite type of music.
4) Find a mentor or watch online tutorials
5) Create a Myspace and start building a little fan base.

These five things i would recommend to any newbie producer that wants to go quite far in the music industry, they are straight forward however I recommend to be careful at number 4.

Ensure the person you are learning from is as well telling you what to do but inspiring you as well, you don’t want a boring mentor as I’m sure they will drive you to properly stop producing music!

Becoming a music producer isn’t the hardest thing in the world, however it is a challenge . Music Production is not for everybody but if you are interested try it and follow my short step by step guide and you will go far. Good Luck!

Get Internships With Major Record Labels

July 12, 2009

http://www.musicproducerpro.net

Getting a internship at a Major Record Label may sound like something that is hard to do however it isn’t as hard as it seems. I am going to be blunt, it comes down to you producing what the listener wants to hear and what the record label wants to hear. You could be mega talented and could be able to do some crazy keys on the keyboard however you may not be what the record label is looking for however, if you ever got in front of a record label you do not want to make the mistake in playing them something that is not what they want to hear.

Learning what the listener wants to hear is the key to getting an internship in a major record label because if the listener does not what to hear it they are not going to buy it. So if they record label doesn’t feel it and they have years and years of experience, more than likely the listener is not going to feel it however you have to master the key to success in a major record label and that is learning how to make music for the listener.

You could be producing any genre of music because there is a market for everybody out there; it just has to be good enough. It could be that you do have the talent and are ready, however the industry isn’t ready or you could really need help producing music before your ready for major exposure. It all ties down to one thing, producing music that listener wants to hear.

Good luck getting an internship.

Get Your Music Playing On The Radio

July 11, 2009

http://www.musicproducerpro.net

Getting your music on the radio is something that many producers with to do, it allows listeners to hear your music and if they like it they will go to the record store and buy it. That is a fairy tail to any new producer to the music industry, unless you have crazy talent and are spotted for example like ‘T-Pain’ who was spotted online and then given a record deal now is one of the biggest singers in Hip-hop and R&B. You have to work very hard to get your music on the radio.

From the day you start your music career you should be regularly updating your website with new material and networking as hard as you possibly can, this is important because the more people that know your name on the road, the more likely a radio station will play your record. The radio works like this, they play what they know the listener wants to hear or what they like to hear. If your record doesn’t fit into either of those leagues I’m sorry to say but it’s likely your record will not be played on air.

You have to work out the formula to making a song that the listener likes, you need to make music people like to be a successful artist and to get your songs played on the radio. You need to build up links and you will one day meet someone who will know a DJ at the local radio station or even commercial radio station and they will give you some air time, however you need to be able to produce great music first.

Producing Music From A Home Studio

July 6, 2009

http://www.musicproducerpro.net

Learning music production from home is one of the most enjoyable things to do as a producer, you get to make your mistakes without any body knowing, you get to experiment without anybody seeing your tricks and techniques… music production is truly amazing. Suddenly in the past 5 years there has been a massive raise in the way music production is seen in the educational eyes and college and university courses have been popping up like hot cakes all over the world.

But is a college or university course in music production what you really need?

I think not, everything you can learn in music production you can learn from a single website that I found while browsing the internet a few months back. After studying a 3 year Degree in ‘Commercial Music’ I took on this course online and realized that everything I had been sitting down studying for 3 years was available in a program that takes a few months to do in your own time from home.

The topics range from music production, music strategies, pop music culture, hip hop, music entrepreneurship and so much more. The creative side is so down to you to be honest, only you can push you and to be honest.. 3 years of studying a degree like myself is not going to do any different than a short course can do for you in a few months. You need to take action for yourself.

You need to become an Entrepreneur in this day in age, being your own boss. Knowledge is the key to any Entrepreneur, so make sure you get your knowledge and know how up!
