Why Producers Find It Hard To Get Record Deals

September 17, 2008

Website: www.musicproducerpro.net

Everyday a new producer is born around the world, well every few minutes to be honest and the industry is growing at an amazingly fast rate. There are people going to be producing music in 5 years that would have never thought about it before in there lives, some that are reading this article thinking about getting into the music industry but never thought about it before. There are so many different reasons people join the music industry, some for the passion, some because they have natural talent or some for the money however are they all successful?

The main reasons producers are finding it hard to get record deals with major record labels is because simply, there is so much competition and unless you have already done a lot of work and have some sort of fan base in some cases, the record label doesn’t want to know. You have to come like a ready made product this day in age in the music industry because If your not, some body else is ready to take your spot. Be warned the music industry is not a playground, you cannot expect to join it and expect a deal to come flying at you with no work put in on your side.

Another reason why Music producers are finding it hard to get record deals with major record labels is because the labels are lacking in money because of poor sales because of illegal downloading of MP3’s. This is effecting the whole entertainment industry because people are no longer buying, they are downloading and it is forcing record labels to get rid of acts.

What Does A Music Producer Do?

September 17, 2008

I had my little cousin ask me a question today.. What Does A Music Producer Do?

I thought aww.. there actually listening to what i am part of. Well i thought i would just give you guys a little brief for dummies on what does a music producer do.

A Music Producer is the person who creates and arranges the Beats, melodies etc in a song. They often have some say in what the artist lays down on the track too, after all they did produce the beat.

A Music Producer is in charge of the overall quality of the final product too, they should be mixing all of there music as well as the vocals unless taking to a professional studio to vocal and master.

Any more things to add? Drop me a comment.

Peace

Jay

Another Day Making Hits

September 17, 2008

Everyday i’m sure some of you out there are just there making beats day in day out for fun, well i told you about it a few days ago.

STOP

Stop wasting your talent, it’s all about marketing yourself as a brand and selling your music to the masses. All those producers with massive back catologues full of beats you need to start profitting from them because if they are good, more than likely someone wants them!

Setup mini contracts, so for example you can give away a beat for $20 to $100 and the artist can give it out up until 1000 copies have been sold or whatever then a contract has to be made where are getting paid for it too.

Many ways for producers to make money!
